Wondering who is helping our marine customers find the right generator solution?

Since March 2022, I have been working at Caldic Techniek as an Account Product Manager in the Energy Technology department. With my background in sales and engineering, I felt right at home from the beginning, although – compared to the average years of service here – I still feel a bit like the “newcomer. My position has remained basically the same, but my responsibilities have gradually expanded. In addition to customer contact, I am now increasingly involved in inventory management and optimizing processes with suppliers.

In my daily work, I switch a lot between customer needs and technology. I’m often on the road and regularly sit down with customers – especially in the maritime sector. That’s where speed counts. If a ship comes to a standstill, it can get very expensive. Customers appreciate it when you think along with them, switch gears immediately and do what you say. That mentality suits me: roll up your sleeves and go.

What makes my job so much fun? The variety; Technology, commerce and customer contact all come together. I conduct customer interviews, prepare quotations and supervise the entire process from request to delivery. When an order comes in, we as a team keep a close eye on the production process. The generators are then in our workshop, where my colleagues tinker with them to perfectly tune them to customer requirements. In between, I send updates and photos to the customer – for example, when their generator is just hanging in the spray booth for a customer-specific color. And the moment the generator is loaded onto the truck, I know: we got this done together.

Thanks to our own stock, we can often deliver at lightning speed. That makes all the difference. I get a lot of satisfaction from this way of working and the corresponding process.

Of course, you will also encounter challenges. Working in an office can be difficult when you have to concentrate on complex technical files. But what I find special about Caldic Techniek is that you are never alone. Colleagues are always willing to help or think with you for a moment. That cooperation – that willingness to do it together – makes all the difference.
